The site has just been updated, and we hope you like the new layout.

New features include : -

New layout to improve screen display.

Click the "More Info" link in the left hand column to expand all the data for the event. Click again to hide it.

New Event submission form for all event types, and fields to include lots more information.

Click on the postcodes in the gig guide to see the approximate location of the venue in Google maps (subject to correct data being input, of course!)

Bands and DJ's that supply a web URL are now hyperlinked so its easier to visit their web pages.

Hopefully you will find the new features useful, however the aim of the site is to provide you with information in an uncluttered, easy to read and familiar format.

Now the unpopular bit. This gig guide exists, as its name suggests, to promote Rock n Roll gigs around the country. Our definition of a gig is a venue with a live band and/or DJ playing. Our definition of Rock n Roll is music made in, or in the style of, the 1950's and pre-Beatles 60's. We MAY include events where the focus is on other genres but includes music that we deem suitable for inclusion, such as R&B or Jump Blues, or other 'roots' type music that is related to Rock n Roll.

We will NOT consider bands or DJ's that include 60's pop, 70's Glam Rock or any other such frippery. Any such events submitted will not be approved, and we may refer you to a more appropriate site.

While we will do our best to deal with any enquiries, we cannot provide a 24/7 service, and your enquiry will be dealt with when possible. Don't expect a lot at weekends - we'll have found a good gig to go to and will be there, not in front of the PC!
